China 12345 hotline is a government-run public service platform designed to streamline communication between citizens and various government departments. Not meant for emergencies, hotline allows residents to report issues, seek assistance, and provide feedback on a range of matters.
Depending on a question or complaint operator connects the caller to the right department be it public, municipal, social, or administrative services:
- Public utilities – reporting issues related to water, electricity, gas, and heating.
- Municipal services – complaints about road maintenance, sanitation, and public transportation.
- Social services – inquiries about healthcare, education, and social welfare programs.
- Administrative services – assistance with administrative procedures.
The switchboard is available 24/7 in Chinese and English and also provides answers to general inquires about the city, such as venue opening hours, foreigner registration, etc.
